FAITH, FAMILY, AND THE FARM
GREAT THINGS ARE WORTH PROTECTING

Shelly Peterson

Northwest Iowa Elder Law and Estate Planning Case Coordinator

Shelly joined the Huizenga Law Firm in March 2018 as the Case Coordinator. Using her formal training and several years of experience as a legal assistant, she helps Ethan prepare estate planning and elder law documents. She also handles the Medicaid application process from start to finish through her relationships with the caseworkers at the Department of Human Services. Finally, Shelly is responsible for keeping clients informed about the status of their planning, and she manages the office duties, keeping the law firm organized and running smoothly.

The slow loss of a loved one to dementia can be devastating. The best part of my job is seeing how our work often takes away the financial stress of paying for care and helps our clients focus on being together as a family during that difficult time.

Shelly was born and raised in rural Northwest Iowa and enjoys the small town atmosphere and lifestyle. She lives in a nearby small town with her husband and son and enjoys sporting events, going to concerts, antiquing, and photography.  People describe Shelly as kind, empathetic, organized, and full of a love for life.

I enjoy working in the legal field and helping others achieve their goals. I look forward to helping you achieve yours!
